Hiking . In the winter it is possible to hike in the Passeiertal Valley on lonely paths. Just yourself and nature. This is precisely what makes this season so attractive. Snow is rare directly at the hotel, but usual at an altitude of 1,500 meters – ideal for both; snow-free hiking in the valley and winter hiking in the mountains. Many Alpine pastures have also re-opened by this time and are happy to share a warm room with guests. And twice a week the host takes guests on a guided hike or snowshoe hike with local mountain guide Erwin.
Skiing . We are not located directly on the track, but not making any secret of it. There are several small ski resorts nearby, some close, some even closer. All are easily reachable by car.

Cross-country skiing . The surroundings of Merano are also ideal for cross-country skiing. There is a cross-country trail at Merano 2000 and in Plan. The two could not offer more of a contrast. At Merano 2000 you can enjoy outstanding panoramic views, and in Plan the route leads romantically to the snow-covered mountain village of Lazines/Lazins.
What else is there to do? How about tobogganing? In Plan or Merano 2000 this is also possible. Surely one or two childhood memories will be awakened there. Ice skating is also possible in Plan or directly on the Thermenplatz square in Merano. And for those who prefer the romantic side of things, take a horse-drawn carriage ride to the snow-covered mountain village of Lazines.
Visit Merano . This town really deserves to be seen. And in winter at Christmas time it is clearly at its best. A gentle sea of lights, the scent of fragrant cinnamon biscuits and the snow-covered mountains in the background. The Christmas market is also a genuine experience. The unique architecture of the unobtrusively decorated stands and the diverse and high-quality range of products make it neither overloaded nor kitsch. The visit is a must for locals and guests alike.
Merano can be reached in 15 minutes by car.
